Great Moments In McCain-Is-Insane History: The Chelsea Joke

In 1998, when Chelsea Clinton was 18 years old, John McCain made this joke at a fund-raising dinner:

John McCain:

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
Because Janet Reno is her father."

Classy, McCain. Classy.

That's pretty funny.

Oh ho ho. Whoo-wee. What a humdinger, my friends.

I love Republican humor. It reminds of church jokes.

So a Presbyterian, a Methodist, and an atheist are standing at the pearly gates...

Did you bother to read to the end of the very article you quoted?

"McCain is also unusually popular with the media. He gives good quotes; he is outspoken. He takes positions that contradict the Republican leadership. When you talk to McCain, he converses in the manner of a real person, seemingly telling you what he thinks. That is rare among elected officials. Ask him a question and he does not shift into automatic-politician mode, as do most members of Congress."

Anon-

Why yes, I did. And all that justifies a tasteless joke how?

I did not say it justifies a tasteless joke; I asked you a question.

If you eat an apple and find a worm in that apple, are all apples bad?

He made a very tasteless comment, especially considering Hillary and Chelsea pretty rough handling and really below the belt. He insulted four people and winked at personal and generally unspoken situations, especially with regard to Hillary.

Just the same, it does not seem that he re-offended. Does that make all of his efforts bad apples?

He hasn't re-offended? Where have you been?

Did he

- insult Chelsea?

- insult Janet Reno?

- insult Bill?

- discuss Hillary's affairs?

since that time? Bill has been hands off but may "rediscover" the event if need be.

McCain is a total jerk-off who is offensive just by being himself. To say something like that about an 18 year old shows a nice, tangeable example of this. And BTW, why does spending time as a war prisoner make you qualified to do anything, especially to be president?
